Green Anaconda (Eunectes Murinus)


Green anaconda (Eunectes Murinus) still includes Boa family. Snakes of South America including the largest snake in the world. His cousin, Python, have a body that is very long but with body size, green anaconda, appears 2 times larger.




Green Anaconda can grow more than 29 feet or 8.8 meters and weigh over 550 pounds or 227 kg and a diameter of approximately 12 inches or 30 cm. Among the relatives of the anaconda, green anaconda is the largest. Female body size larger than the male. Anaconda lives in swamps, water current is weak, most are found in the Amazon and Orinoco river basins.


His body was designed to easily walk on water than on land. The eyes and nostrils are located on the head so that makes it easier to dive and play in the water. During mating, occur competencies between males competing for the female and this is the case for 4 weeks.
